Yeah… those phantoms are horrible carbon traps. I won’t even run them at all. A2s and Blackouts have a cone shape that traps less crap in front of the crown.
While the Phantom is AMAZING at what it does, (better than the A2 imo) it IS a carbon “Swiffer”. We all know that you trade one thing for another.
If youre really wanting something to breakup the Carbon, why dont you try something from Autozone, the stuff you put through your engine.
That or the spray that cleans out the throttle body.
I normally just use a wire wheel on the end of a Dremel
Gun scrubber works well for removing residue.
One thing I thought of… If the carbon plugged up the rear holes(I know some of those SF breaks have small holes in the top before the baffles) that may cause gases to go straight out the baffled area and ignite unburned powder. Also, less volume inside the comp from residue may not look substantial, but since its compressed gas, it may be enough to cause the flash. Id clean it and see.
Side note to previous poster - Oxygen does not “ignite” or “burn”. The other reactant(s) does(do). Im nitpicking, I know… sorry

Plain old brake cleaner does a pretty good job on carbon. Depending on your rifles finish, it may be for you.
