I have a question about the difference in the M&P 9mm that come in 17+1 capacity and 10+1 capacity. I assume that is for those certain states that don’t like the high capacity magazines, but is this something that is fixed with the magazine or with the actual gun itself?
The reason I am wanting to know is I found a M&P 9mm FS that I am wanting to buy but it is the 10+1, so was wondering if I bought it, could I just buy the other magazines to make it the 17+1 capacity or just remove the limiter in the magazine that it comes with?
It’s the magazine, not the gun. 17 round magazines will work just fine. You can even add an Arredondo base plate and increase the the 17 rounder to 23 rounds.
If the deal is good enough, I’d just buy some 17 rd magazines, and sell the 10 rd magazines to someone in a ban state.
Or use the 10 rd magazines for training. Especially when performing magazine changes. Let the 10 rd mags bounce on the concrete instead of your 17 rd’ers.
