Difference in DD Lite rails

I’ve noticed a difference in DD Lite rails.

Some have no vent holes on the vertical lower portion of the lower rail, while others have holes similar to the vertical portion of the upper rail.

Does anyone know why the change was made and if it makes any difference?

New DD Lite rails lack the holes on the lower rail. Probably adds a couple of grams of weight. Doesn’t make a difference to me though. My guess is it saves them a ton of time on the machines, deburring, and inspecting.

The most current versions of our AR15 Lite Rails do not have the holes along the bottom rail. The main reason this was done was to standardize the location of the laser engraving of Company Information and Model Number.

Another change made to the AR15 Lite Rails was more relief in the bolt up adapter for shooters installing a Lite Rail over a low profile gas block. Our older versions made it very difficult for an install such as this as you could not simply install a low profile gas block to your barrel and then slide the rail system over it. Our newer versions will allow this.

I get emailed this question on a regular basis from people wanting to know why their new rail doesn’t look like whats on the website.

It would be nice for consumers if the website was updated to show the current product.

We definitely have some catching up to do.
