diamondback tactical

anyone use any of their products. i have been in the market for a new plate carrier and various mag holders. just wanted to get any opinions out there, pics would be great too.

I recently purchased several mag pouches -

[ul]
[li]M4/M16 Single Mag pouch (actually holds 2 mags)
[/li][li]Triple pistol mag pouch w/ DETLOC
[/li][li]M4/M16 single mag short pouch (holds 1 mag)
[/li][/ul]

I’ve not put them to any hard use yet but, they appear to solidly built. They give me the configuration I wanted and they’re available in MultiCam.

It took several weeks to get them (probably because of the MultiCam…?). DBT was up front about their delivery times, which made it ok by me.

We use lots of their stuff and they have great customer service. I’ll have to check around for some pics. I used their Plate Carrier and the Low Vis AK Chest rig on my last deployment.

DBT makes good quality kit. I would have no issues using any of it.

I own several pieces of DBT kit and my day to day body armor is a DBT Predator with a set of their plates. I also have a Gen. I Fast Attack Plate Carrier. I own and have used their Low-Vis Rack and a plethora of their pouches to include the Triple Pistol Mag Pouch. Their stuff is well made and priced right. If you are MIL/ LEO you should also get a discount. I have been dealing with them since 2004 and am very happy with their service.

Good stuff ! Purchased alot of there gear on sale when they were dumping OD for the newer more “fashionable” colors. Used there FAV, pouches etc. in a carbine class the following month (not really enough time to break in gear but…) everything worked great. I would buy there stuff again.

yeah, im a leo and are aware of the discount that they offer, pretty good one too. i was thinking about the fast attack plate carrier for an active shooter system. it looks rugged, and not as combersome as others ive looked at. thanks for the feedback and the pick.

The FAPC would probably be a good choice since you already have soft body armor. I wore it on certain gigs where we just didn’t feel the need for 35+ lbs. of shit. I think it will work well for your purpose.

Another +1 for DBT gear. I have several pieces of their gear, and all are well done and priced appropriately.

The one suggestion that i have for anyone thats interested in getting any DBT gear is that they always phone their orders in.

DBT will generally not tell you what is backordered when you place an order online. This leaves alot of guessing involved as to when you’re going to get the items you’ve paid for.

Im not sure if they’ve changed this as of the last six months but whenever ive phoned my orders in ive never had an issue since they check the stock levels with me while im on the phone.

I checked their site. I couldn’t find anything with “AK low vis chest rig”. Do you have a product number, or a link?

Thanks brotha man. Technically those 3 GP (general purpose?) pouches underneath the 3 dedicated AK mag pouches could be used for 3 more mags couldn’t it? To hold a total of 6. This would be ideal…

Would something like this work for an AK rig?

Would the 4 internal mag pouches hold banana mags well? Plus would the the bungee cords hold them in place? My idea was to utilize this, then buy 2 double mag pouches, or 3 single mag for an AK then put it together. I think the set up itself would work fine, but I am unsure as to the compatabiilty of the actual unit itself. I don’t know what “detloc” is so if it’s only M4 mag freindly then forget about it.

Jedi,

I believe that I have this set up as well. Let me look and see if I brought it with. Det-Loc is like a rubber/texture surface that they sew into areas inside the pouch to hold the mags (sorry it’s the best way I can describe it). Also, I believe the bungees are adjustable if I recall. As a matter of fact on my other Low-Vis Rack I had to loosen them a bit to get the mags in and out smoothly. It may well work for AK’s, but I cannot be sure. Call and talk to a Tech person at DBT, someone there should know.
