Diagnose This Crazy Malfunction

Have seen similar with poor quality charging handles that were out of spec from the start or warped later. The gas key would rub and tear into it which retarded the BCGs ability to fully travel. Generally shavings of aluminum are found and obviously the anodizing is worn through quickly…

Hurry up tell us what you found.

The BCG and other parts were replaced while he was on R/R. When he came back and went to shoot the weapon (yesterday) is when the malfunction took place. I replaced only the gas tube (yesterday).

From what I have seen of the Prvi Partizan and Bulgarian ammo here, it isn’t that great and before I reamed the barrels we had experienced about a 30-40% blown primer rate. The Bulgarian ammo was a little less.

Its not SS109 ammo – its SS109 ‘like’
It has the SS109 bullet construction - but that about the end of the similarity.

The 55gr Prvi stuff seems to do Ok for training purposes on my end.

I know, I know – sample size equaling one and all that. I don’t get my ammo paid for by Uncle Sugar OR Uncle Reed.

Shivan,

Strangely enough I hear decent things about the 55gr. but for some reason the 62gr. faux SS109 ammo we have doesn’t work all that well in our Bushies. But, it works great as does the Bulgarian SS109 in our AR M1 (5.56 AK) rifles with no issues.

Yep, I heard the same when I asked someone about some good pricing I saw, with lots of stock.

He said, “There’s a reason it’s in stock and priced well…” :stuck_out_tongue:
