Does SWAT have the .50 BMG rifles or the guys in the van?

First reported DPD had .50s.

Reporting now one white male suspect claiming DPD took his child away and accused him of being a terrorist. DPD EOD confirmed one bag out of four suspected bags left outside of the headquarters contains pipe bombs. Possible three other suspects firing on DPD headquarters from elevated positions but that has not been confirmed.

Armored van at the Jack-In-The-Box parking lot in Hutchins south of Dallas. Another exchange of gun fire between suspect(s) and DPD SWAT.

Concern now is this might be a distraction for something else. FBI/BATFE investigating.

Again, story is still breaking from 00:40 CST.

Hit the van with a SMAW and then run it over with a bulldozer. deposit remants in convienent hole.

But wait, I thought there was no good reason police should have such “military” weapons as their disposal?

Good on the PD and it likely saved lives.

Amateur hour.

Surprise, armored vehicle, automatic weapons and explosives on your side and you don’t even hurt an LEO?

While PD HQs are harder than most targets, I’m glad this guy wasn’t a professional and all of the good guys appear to be going home safely.

Guess it’s “good” that it happened in Texas where they seem prepared to fight back. Some other places with more liberal run policies may not have fared so well.

Why attack in the middle of the night?

Hey, I’m not opposed to dumb enemies, but could you think of a less effective time to do it? It’s not like it sounded like a spur of the moment attack?

The cops call me a terrorist, so I show them they’re wrong by… launching a terrorist attack?

Maybe he didn’t want to get stuck in traffic

Remember folks, there is no good reason for cops to have things like .50 cal rifles, armored vehicles, tactical gear, assault rifles etc. according to the people running this country. They said so after Ferguson.

I’m glad no one from DPD got hurt. If what the suspect said was accurate this was all over his kid being taken from him.
