Whats the best way to cut off a delta ring? I want to install a free float rail. What’s the best free float rail for the money?

Can a small hacksaw do the job as well? I don’t mind putting in the extra elbow grease. Prior experience has told me that I trust my own hands over a rotary tool.

Buy a rail that does not require butchering your rifle.

If you cut it–get some duct tape and lay down 4-5 layers around it for goofs!

The best way is to pull the barrel and remove it.

Another +1 for the Daniel Defense Omega rails. They’re rock hard, very lightweight, and do not require “black rifle surgery” to install. :smiley:

I would not recommend "cutting anything. I would recommend you get yourself some tools and remove the gas block and take the barrel off the receiver. If you don’t want to buy the tools just send your upper to whomever your buying the rail from or send everything to ADCO. Get it done right, the first time.
