Makes me feel a little better about my Delta experience recently. But mostly I feel bad that we are losing still soldiers and dogs to help people who seem to value that sacrifice as much as they value a dog. I know from the soldiers perspective he was probably doing it to protect other soldiers and I can understand that, but I wish we didn’t still have people in harms way as we don’t seem to be doing anything meaningful.
If it makes you feel better a little, that video was from two years ago. That in no way diminishes what Delta did (and does), but Delta these days does not have to render honors like this as often…
Yea, hard not to. I’ve played taps many times, hard to keep it together sometimes. What these guys did was special for the soldier, his partner, and family. Much respect.
