I would try it. Our two early 2010 G17s have run very well for 10K and 5K rds respectively with many brands of training ammo. They came with the original unmarked RSA that was the same as applied to the G22.
This is counter conventional wisdom. Way counter.

Will they fit or interchange? Yes they will. Will they run optimally with a variety of ammo in 9mm or .40 S&W? Maybe. Glock fine tuned the RSA to run more optimal for the caliber.
The current dual RSA specs for Gen4’s are
9mm G17/G34 are marked 0-2-4 with a part number of SP 08284
.40 S&W G22/G31/G37/G35 are marked 0-1-4 with a part number of SP 07577
Are you having any reliability issues with the current spring?
I have done precisely that for hot 9mm ammo. Don’t do it with factory 115 gr or weak reloads. Doing this for competition only.

My hunch is your RSA is in current spec. I base that on my Dec '13 purchased Gen 4 G34. It too will shift out of battery holstering much much more easily than any other of many Glocks through our hands here. It passes the return to battery test so meh. But they’re cheap. Try some out.
