If I found myself wanting to build another rifle, I’d strongly consider saving myself the time by buying a complete, basic LMT for about $1250, or a Colt 6920 for not much more.
LMT 6.8 MRP Rifle 20" Stainless
Leupod MKII
Troy flip up F/R sights
SOPMOD Stock
Ergo Pistol Grip
TangoDown VFG
Arms QD scope mounts
You are really trying your hardest to ask for help aren’t you?:o
Most of us have built our own custom ARs, for what we need it/want it to do.
Why dont you do the same?
Or ask more specific questions about components, and I’d bet you’d get more detailed answers.
I built a basic A4 Clone in Jan. when Bravo Co. had Sabre 20" Barrels in Stock.

I also have a S&W M&P 15R, a Rock River NM A2 Rifle, and am preparing for an LMT build by the end of this summer.
The Kool-Aid here is a little saltier but you only have to drink it once.
What does “no tactical add ons” mean?
Do you consider a red-dot sight in that category?
What about a light? A sling?
Many people consider those highly useful, for a serious rifle.
I have a half-dozen AR’s, they are all designed for specific purposes, as Derek said.
I’m using a Bushmaster upper I got back in 2005, on top of a BM lower I got in 2004. Not the best, but I’ve fixed close to all the issues that will give me function problems.
Upper:
BM receiver
BM barrel (14.5" M4 Profile 1/9 twist:mad:)
Phantom 5C2 perm. attached
BM bolt and BCG (gas key staked with MOACKS)
BCM extractor upgrade kit (spring and o-ring)
BM charging handle
PRI Big Latch
LaRue Tactical 13.2" Rail System
Troy M4-Ear folding front sight
Troy folding rear sight
Aimpoint M4S in LaRue lower 3rd Co-witness mount
LaRue FUG grip (running stubby)
Surefire 6P LED in LT150 mount on 12 oclock rail
Magpul XT panels
Lower:
BM lower reciever
CMMG LPK
Magpul MIAD
Magpul Aluminum Trigger guard
Magpul UBR
H-Buffer from BCM
BM buffer spring
BFG Vickers Sling on 2 QD Swivels

I would spend your money on one of these:
Hey…with a nickname like “Alphabet Gun” it’s got to be good right?
I’ll bite even though the original thread is deleted…
BCM or LMT lower
BCM or LMT 16" M4 upper
BCM or LMT F/A BCG
BCM or LMT CH
Standard M4 Handguards
DD, LaRue, or LMT fixed BUIS - Troy or MBUS if you want folding
Aimpoint CompC3 in a Cantilever mount (in case I pick up a magnifier later)
10-20 PMAGs
2-4 cases of ammo
Most of this is available at G&R or Bravo Company (or will be with a short wait) and will definitely be the most bang for your buck if you want an M4 that you “build”.
There’s no “tactical add ons”, though I would suggest MOE handguards with a built of rail attached to them and a VTAC light mount with a G2 in it… plus a VTAC sling - there’s bigger and better, but that would suit most of your needs (since it appears you won’t be purposefully going into harms way any time soon) and represents good value for your money spent.
