Defense Associates in Fairfield, CT?

Does anybody know anything about this school? http://www.defenseassociates.com/

They are, almost literally, right in my back yard. The training programs are based on Chuck Taylor’s American Small Arms Academy program (with some advanced classes being taught by Chuck Taylor) and they also offer a class taught by Massad Ayoob.

I took the Concealed Carry Realities class they offer shortly after I got my permit. I liked the class and the instructor (who is one of two people that teaches most of their classes), and I definitely benefited from the class, but the fact is, I would have benefited from instruction with anybody who is basically competent. I don’t have enough training and experience to judge the instruction beyond that. I have read conflicting opinions on both Chuck Taylor and Massad Ayoob, so I wonder about training that is based on their programs and/or offered by them.

It would be a real bonus for me if there was a quality school/instructor local to me. This school seems promising, to me. That having been said, I don’t want to waste my time and money or, worse, get badly trained or develop bad habits that I’ll have to unlearn later. If anybody has any direct experience with the school, I would love to hear about it. I would also appreciate any input from people who have experience picking instructors, knowledge of the industry, etc.

I know there are some really top tier instructors on this board. I’ve already got a list of people I’d like to train with as time goes on. I am trying to decide if this (incredibly convenient) school should be part of my training plan.

Thanks

Bump. Anybody? thanks.

Back to the top for one last try. I was really hoping to get some input here since there are some incredibly knowledgeable, qualified and competent members on this board and I think this is probably one of, if not the, best sources. If the question is somehow out of line or stepping on toes, I apologize. If anybody has any suggestions about another information source to look at, I’d appreciate that as well.

Thanks.
