I took my dedicated AR-22 M4 out this weekend & my 11 yr old son did not want to give it back. Man, it is a hoot! If you have not shot one, you really don’t know what you are missing. We blasted over 500 rounds and killed many clay pigeons and cans and it cost me less than $20! My rifle is a Tactical Solutions Upper on a DPMS lower w/ a Trijicon Mini Red dot & USGI MaTech BUIS. Wicked fun!

I’m probably going to have to buy my son a S&W M&P 15-22 (now that they are putting flash hiders on them) or a Sig 522. That way I will get a chance to shoot my new toy.

Can I play, too?

Since I recently finished my dedicated build I finally have an AR that I can shoot as much as I want! No more financial ruin from going to the range.

My only regret is that I didn’t do this years ago, although only in the last few has it become really practical IMO.

I have not had that much fun for $20 in quite a few years (Subic Bay comes to mind…lol). It really is great fun with a rifle that looks and feels like my LMT M4. The Black Dog mags work great and are really pretty cheap so you can stock up. However, I will have to buy another rifle for my boy if I ever want to shot my AR22 again. The adjustable stock makes fitting a youth shooter a snap. The only down side to this set up is your finger will hurt from loading the numerious magazines you empty.

Are you following the thread at TOS about the guy who’s getting ready to release manual BHOs that will work with the .22 bolts? He and BDM even have a last round BHO coming.

++1 I love my Tacsol equipped dedicated .22lr…i haven’t had this much fun shooting since I was a kid…
