DEBATE: McCain on the "Front Line?"... My a$$!

Saw the Republican debate last night on CNN… and only TWO THINGS set me off (besides the usually queasiness I get from liberal ideology).

  1. McCain beat his chest (figuratively) several times by BOASTING how he was on the “FRONT LINE” in the GWOT… He is about as far from the FRONT LINE as one in politics can get!!! What an insult to those who are TRULY on the “Front Line,” like many of the members here, like those who patrol and kick in terrorist doors in Iraqi and A-stan slums, like the Agents/Operatives who infiltrate, risking beheadings…

He is a freakin’ secluded and protected SENATOR!!! A Legislator, as Romney so well pointed out. A paper pusher and COMPROMISER (His own admission, by reaching across the isle). What a pompous, arrogant a$$!!!

God help us if he gets in the White House…

  1. Huckabee and Paul basically shut out of the debate… especially Ron Paul, who was slammed shut twice by the moderator. It seems CNN has already crowned our contenders…

What a joke our political process has become… and we want to establish this mess all over the world? [rant off]

I noticed the same thing but Romney pointing out that McCain was a politician is all too obvious. Last time I checked they were all politicians looking to get elected. Romney doesn’t have much room to talk because he changes his stances and campaign about as much as John Kerry did.

I was VERY disappointed about how all the questions were directed to McCain and Romney about 85% of the time. I’ve heard them more than enough to have a solid opinion on them. Huckabee and Paul received very little air time, were constantly cutoff when they tried to answer questions, and that debate was probably a complete waste of their time and money.

The media has a tendency to ignore people they can’t pigeonhole. I recall when Allen Keyes started running for Pres, ABC/NBC/CBS wouldn’t even list him as a candidate. We should use our media machine as a weapon - export it to enemy cultures to shorten their attention span, make them dumber and more apathetic.

Romney has no place to criticize McCain, as he is simply a watered down version of the man, politically and tactically, - minus the war hero part.

I was glad to see Rudy’s fantasy driven run for president come to an end. What was he thinking?

I’m voting for Huckabee, but my guess is McCain is going to be the guy. One thing to consider is his age may work against him if Obama gets the nod - the dude is really old. If it goes to Hillary vs McCain I think we might have it (for whatever that is worth).

What was he thinking?
…maybe he’d rather be VP for the current czar of NYC…?
