Exactly. People should be able to choose how they live and die, as long as they dont choose that for others.

Yep. How anyone can believe they have the authority to make this kind of decision for anyone else is beyond me.

If and when I am ever confronted with that type of decision, I would want the option of checking myself out without leaving a fucking mess for somebody else to clean up.

I have always said that if possible I will be the one to choose the time, place, and way of my passing. If I would do the same as these people did if I am ever faced with a situation of living in pain, etc.

So if your kid was in such horrible pain and suffering with no chance for improvement and was terminal regardless and you and your doctors were in complete agreement that the only beneficial thing to be done is to end their suffering you would prefer a government that would prevent you from making that decision?

Keep in mind this isn’t the government deciding to kill your kid.

I agree. Suicide should not be illegal. We waste too much time trying to talk people out of something that would ease the burden on society.

I had an idea about suicide booths for awhile now. Let people kill themselves if they want, more oxygen for the rest of us.

I think about it more as a burden for themselves.

I did have a family member who was very close to commiting suicide, and was talked out of it. She’s doing very well now though.

Nice. I’d love love to be a fly on the wall when you show up to a suicide threat call. lol

I don’t mean to be insensitive. I just get sick of all the people I have delt with who are essentially trying to get attention. There are those out there who really need help and that can be helped. That said if someone really wants to commit suicide and has a good reason like unbearable pain etc I see no reason to stop them.
