Hey guys I posted this in a recent DDM4 thread, but thought it may be better to post separately.
I just picked up a DDM4 rifle. Being a GA boy, I have wanted one of their lowers marked Savannah, GA ever since they posted a picture of one on their website a couple of years ago. First, I have to say this is one of the most well put together rifles I have ever seen. the combination & quality of components plus the quality of the build are excellent. The lower & upper were tight. I mean tight, like they were one piece of forged aluminum! It may be bothersome to some, but I thought it was impressive.
While it is one sexy rifle, especially the new Omega X rail, I am selling the upper half. I just don’t need another 16" upper. I thought my Dad was going to take it, but he just bought a Noveske Recce Basic and a middie BCM upper from Grant.
I have a quick question for you guys. I was adding my favorite accessories to the lower and I am having some trouble with the trigger. I wanted to swap it out for a Geissele SSA that I’ve had rat holed for just such an occasion. When I installed it, it would not work. I can’t get the trigger to break. It’s almost like having the safety on. It has some movement, then it hits a solid wall & the hammer just won’t fall.
Any ideas?
What you want sell the upper for? [price] Interested.
I just posted it here in the member sales forum. Same price that Bravo Co. had them for a few weeks ago. I’m not looking to gouge anyone, I just need to sell it. It is new / unfired just in case anyone is curious.
Getting back on topic, does anyone have an idea what may be the problem with my trigger?
Can you take a picture of how you have installed the trigger?
I’ll see if I can get a decent pic tonight. I think that the rear part of the trigger is contacting the safety. When the safety is in the fire position, the trigger has rearward movement and then just stops solid before releasing the hammer. If I hold the trigger back and cock the hammer, then release the trigger forward, it resets as usual.
No pics yet. I did drop this trigger into my KAC E3 lower and it worked fine though. I’m wondering if this isn’t a probelm with how the trigger relates to the safety. There is a very minute amount of overtravel with the Giessele and the KAC 2-stage in the KAC lower. I can see how if the safety had a tolerance issue, it might not allow room for enough travel, therefore not allowing the trigger to break.
Anyone got a lead on an LMT ambidextrous safety that won’t cost me $8 to mail? I’m wondering if swapping it out will fix the problem? Anyone out there with more experience have any other ideas?
I know exactly what the issue is. Send me an e-mail about it an I will help you.
