DD XV Upper vs. DD Omega V upper

Are these two the same thing? The only differnce I could find is the barrel on the XV being cold Hammer forged? Any one know what kind of steel the XV is?

Im finishing up my AR build and decided to go with an M4 carbine set up instead of a rifle config. I finally have enough $$ to purchase my upper and have it down to these to.

Any Suggestions, btw I know this is my first post on M4carbine been trolling alot here found out about this place from The AK Forum.

The Omega X upper appears to be an DD M4 upper minus the rear sight and VFG, therefore I believe it should have a hammer forged barrel. Other than that it’s personal preference on the rail system or lack thereof.

Edited to add: After further though I was trying to search to fact check my above statement, as I believe Grant or someone posted that the DD M4’s were now shipping with the Hammer Forged barrels but the search doesn’t seem to be working for me. It keeps erroring out. The DD website specifically states that the XV does have the hammer forged barrel, but doesn’t state that the M4 does. I can’t imagine that they are shipping with different barrels though. I’m gonna shoot DD an email for clarification.

ALL DDs are hammer forged now

what are the advantages of a cold hammer forged barrel?

I also have questions about DD’s CHF bbls. Are these comparable with the Noveske bbls. which have a rep for being more accurate than standard mil-spec bbls.? Do the DD bbls. have the same heavy chrome-lining as the Noveske, for longer bbl. life?
