DD submitting improved AR

I wonder what they will offer that will be different. I will be looking at this one with a lot of interest.

sounds like something to watch for.

i do wonder who they are teaming up with though.

I wonder if they are teaming up with Vickers on something. Vickers had some involvement with the HK-416.

Now THIS is something to be very watchful for.

I see it’s going to be tailored for the new M855A1 round. Think the “green” round will be around for a while? I’ve read that it performed better than 7.62MM ball, but who knows what that means.

It penetrated a steel plate better than 7.62mm. That doesn’t mean it will kill more easily than 7.62mm… unless the bad guy is a steel plate.

This should be very interesting. Very impressed with DDM4. Will definitely being staying tuned in to this.

If they are partnering up with someone else, that would lead me to believe they are doing something greater than a middy with omega rail.

Interesting. Hope it goes well for them.

I really like DD products, but was disappointed to find YFS screws included with the one Lite rail I’ve purchased. Replaced the junk screws with US-made 18-8 stainless screws and have been very pleased with the product.

Steel penetration correlates to small expansion in soft tissue, right?

Nice to see a Moore County neighbor on the forum, by the way.

The new round has improved lethality, but I don’t know if that means that it is more lethal than the 7.62 NATO. I just know that it penetrates a steel plate better. The other issues with 5.56 lethality may still be present. I haven’t killed anybody, so my info is purely second hand.

Moore county… where wealthy people go to die.

Let’s not talk about the lethality of 5.56 lol I just convinced myself to stay with it over the 6.8.

Does anyone have a release date for this rifle?

Chatham County: FFA world domination

Since I don’t shoot people for a living, the lethality issue is purely academic for me. I have no problem with the round itself and since they improved it, I have even less problem.

Ever listen to 2 Guys Named Chris in the morning? Pure joy!

Zombies, man. Zombies!

And I’ll stop thread-jacking. Sorry, mods and OP!

Daniel Defense, PLEASE don’t pull a Magpul and go to someone like Bushmaster for large scale production…

Interesting times we live in.

Looking forward to learning more.
Wonder if its another AR manufacturer, hope not BM

Any new word on this?

There was a time that I thought Magpul was unstoppable in the AR furniture market considering the product innovation, high quality mfg’ing, and continual exciting new product releases…that time I refer to was the day prior to Magpul going full ACR, Masada, or whatever the hell it’s called w. companies like Bushmaster. I would be sporting MOE + grips without the Widget/ACR. I instantly thought about this when I read the thread title.

Its amazing how so many of these mfg’rs continually sink their RD and to some degree their companies chasing the “broken m4” contract.

DD’s products are top notch. Please not BM!
