DD M4v5

I did some horse trading and picked up a DD M4v5. My first DD rifle. Probably not my last. I have always been impressed with DD products and so far I am very impressed with this rifle. I have not shot it yet but it appears to be everything they say a DD rifle should be. I am on the fence about the furniture that DD ships with their rifles although the rail covers are a nice touch. The grip is smallish for my hand compared to a MOE/MIAD grip. The stock does not have a lock like a CTR but neither does my BCM gunfighter stock. I will run it with the OEM furniture until it gives me a reason not to do so.

I like the M4 12.0 rail that came with the rifle. It is rock solid as you would expect from DD with all the real-estate you could want.

I slapped irons on it for giggles and grins until I purchase a variable optic for it. Personally I would have preferred if DD kept their furniture and included a set of their fixed sites.
Looking forward to using this rifle very soon and putting it to good use.

Congrats! That is a workhorse for sure, the V5 has been on my mind for a long time.

As for the furniture… Like anything, how it feels in the living room and how it feels when training are completely different, it’s a good move to stay the course.

I know you’re going to enjoy it. I’ve put almost 5k through mine, not a hiccup. It is my go to rifle. The only thing I’d change is the rail length is only an inch or 2 short, I’m most likely going to replace the DD rail with Centurion CMR 14".
