i was looking a round and i saw the daniel defense omega rail system it looks pretty good and the web page talks pretty good about them.i just want to know if the rails are as good as they say they are and if anybody has heared anything bad about them.thanks

Im sure these rails are going to be super. As a matter of fact when the Omega is released i will be putting pne on a new LMT.
That was my thought as well. I’m doing two consecutive serial number lowers. One topped with a 16" LMT upper, the other and SBR with a 10.5" LMT upper. If I like the Omega on the first one, I’m going to use it on the second.
Any pics of the Omega rail? I’m looking at getting Larue rail for my carbine.

I would imagine much much better than any 2-piece KAC rail. I don’t think the offerings from KAC that are retained by the delta ring and handguard cap are this secure.
That is what interested me in the Omega. A less expensive alternative to the KAC/RIS with SAS Lower that I’m currently running on a couple of guns. I’m happy with the KAC, but they are expensive. I’ve never had an issue with security and I mount my Aimpoint to the upper rail.
DDs are expensive too.
But I’ve looked at Stickman’s pics, and I can’t figure out how this thing locks on or stays FF. I’d have to see one, or have someone draw me a picture.

They aren’t as expensive as KAC. I’ve already seen the Omega advertised for $239.
They are supposed to be shipping this week.
They appear to me to lock on the inside of the barrel nut similar to the KAC, except it looks like they lock from the sides vs the top and bottom.
There are 2 screws on each side of the rail then 4 tiny allen screws to fasten the halves together and into the barrel nut.
You can see ONE allen screw in Stickman’s picture.
Are they coming with full or ladder rail covers?
I’m thinkin’ that once Brownells gets ahold of a few of these I’ll have to pick up one or two for my 9mm and .22 ARs.
The Omega Rail is shipping with ladder panels.
We made a shipment to Brownells, but they’ve yet to add them to their website.
