I have a DD chf 16" w/carbine gas port, uninstalled. What I’d like to know, if someone could tell me is, should I expect to experience some short stroking issues with this barrel? or is this just inherent in their standard barrels? From what I’ve seen of people having the short stroking issue they claim is due to an undersized gasport diameter. Thanks for any info
you should probably just shoot it…but no, IIRC by the time they switched to CHF they had the small % of gas port issues worked out. FWIW: i have a CHF DD carbine barrel with a born on date of August 09’ and the GP is right @.062". Im pretty sure that is what the spec calls for.
ok thanks a lot!
If you don’t shoot you’ll never know. ![]()
You mean we should build and shoot our rifles first before diagnosing any problems? Great idea! ;)![]()
I had planned all along to shoot it obviously, but damn near everyone on here praises the shit out of DD and then I see several complaints here and there of short stroking, so just wanted some ideas of what to look for, you know, “an ounce of prevention” I’ll bet it turns out to be a great barrel though and I’ll be sure to let you know!![]()
Go shoot it OP
I’m going to, this wkend, thanks
I have used two standard DD M4 profile barrels with no issues what-so-ever. They have been the best barrels I have used and cannot wait until I get my CHF DD barrel. Do not believe the user reviews you read on Midway or Brownells. It’s a typical blind-leading-the-blind…
Yeah that’s what I figured, I got mine from Pk firearms
