Interesting video. I appreciate MAC objectiveness, especially concerning the bolt hold open on this one.
This gun is RIFE with aftermarket potential. Stocks, BHO lever, siderails, selector levers, charging handles, etc.
Basically all the stuff that sprung up around the SCAR.
Now with guns like this, is it harder to use than your traditional pistol? Also thats a cool looking gun but I wouldn’t pay that price for it.
Define “traditional pistol”.
Harder to use than a handgun? Well it’s heavier, that’s for sure. It’s harder to aim well.
If you plan on using it as a pistol, it will suck…
Exactly, the only reason to get one would be to SBR it.
Or any other reason to get a $1600+ pistol version of a foreign rifle. They will sell tons of these regardless of any rational reason not to buy. I was thinking to myself I needed another CZ anyway, good as any other reason…
I’m probably going to sell a redundant BCM for this gun. A few pistols at LEAST.
Been waiting for a realistically priced SG551-553 shorty clone (piston-action, folding stock, small OAL, able to be fired with a folded stock, well made, accurate). The Bren 805 SBR’ed would result in an overall length of under 20" with the stock folded, and won’t bankrupt me. Let’s hope that these don’t fall flat on the market & that replacement parts aren’t rare as hen’s teeth.

I’ve looked and called around a bit, and $1850 seems to be the consistent price.
I’m concerned about how much the price will realistically drop after initial interest, considering we have an election coming up, and all it will take is one comment from the Clinton camp to kickstart the next craze. These guns could go to $2500-$3000 literally overnight.
Knowing the dealer cost on these I will say you may seem them for $1650-1700 once the hype drops but they more than likely won’t drop below that of the dealer wants to make any profit.
They could just as easily go the other direction in a few months once the initial wave of demand has gone down. I just purchased a new Bushmaster ACR (which MAC prefers over the Scar) for $1500. It was $2000 a year ago. I bought an FS2000 a few years ago for $1450. A few months later they were back up to $2000. The bottom line is that it’s a gamble and you never really know. If you really want it, I’d say buy it. On the other hand, if you can do without, wait until the price drops and then levels out.
Believe I saw them on GB in the $1600’s.
I don’t know if it’s due to labor cost or marketing strategies, but I commend CZ for their pricing compared to, say, the obscene prices of FN.
