I was procrastinating to avoid doing some productive work and I came across the CZ website and noticed the CZ SP-01…
Anyone have any experience with those pistols? Are they any good? Triggers any good?
I was just thinking the other day how I don’t have enough hi-cap 9mms…
It is a nice gun but heavy. Stock triggers are just ok but can be made very nice. Like every other CZ the low bore means that it can be shot very quickly. Accuracy is not better or worse than any other CZ 75 or 85. It is quickly becoming a popular gun in USPSA production. IIRC three of the guys in the the Nationals super squad were running the SP-01.
I have a P-01 and let me tell you…it kicks serious ass, I’ll put it up against any SIG,HK,GLOCK,BERETTA,ETC.This little pistol F—ING ROCKS!!! Now with that said, imagin it’s bigger brother the SP-01 with 18+1 full size package you really can’t go wrong with either one.Now hurry up get one before the prices go up! I’am telling you man you will be very very impressed.
I have a CZ-85 Combat that I love. I’m getting a CZ-75SA later this year.
I have one its a fine gun to shoot heavy but soaks up the 9mm recoil … only thing i wish is it was Single Action only as of course the trigger isnt as good as a 1911 but 19 rounds of 9mm is still fun to shoot
Also it Comes with a Ambi a big Plus for me as i am a lefty

a cz made pistol is one of the few of the “wondernine variety” that im yet to own, but i admit it is an appealing design. someday ill try one out… this coming from a glock guy:eek:
Its a heavy mug, but very accurate. I sent mine out for a trigger job, in stock form it really not that great. I’d pay a few $ more for one with an improved factory trigger.

I believe this was mentioned by Jim Scoutten on Shooting USA, or Sighting In (can’t remember which). Apparently it’s a pretty popular pistol with some shooters who do the games.
Seems like a great 9 that would be perfect for range use, but I have no actual experience with the gun itself.
I just traded into the SP01 Tactical model, I like it so far. It came with the bayonet deal, that I’ll sell. It’s on the heavy side, but I can run it pretty fast as it doesn’t recoil much. The model I have has the decocker instead of safety so you can’t run it cocked and locked, but I’m OK with a DA/SA gun. It has tritium 3 dot sights, I’m going to black out the rear 2, if I can’t find something else. Overall it’s a nice gun, wouldn’t want to carry it full time though, I guess I’ve been spoiled by polymer guns.
I’m starting to see these and the P-01 go up in price. I think the secret has gotten out.
This is a nice gun. The extra weight does soak up the 9X19s recoil. My friend bought his and sent it back to the CZ custom shop and had them install the single action trigger. When he got it back, he fitted a Bar-Sto barrel in it. That gun turned up really nice. Crap, I think I need to buy one.

I’m going to have to give them a call. They are not far from where I live. I had heard of Angus as a local CZ gunsmith but didn’t know he had so much to offer.
The gunshow is tomorrow…and there’s always a CZ dealer that shows up…
