New P10c, 800+ rds through it with HB trigger.
No issues til last range trip; shooting at speed, gun would double occasionally. Deliberate/slow(er) rate of fire (couple rds per second) never a problem.
This my first striker gun and at bottom of learning curve here.
Any insight as to how to trouble shoot this?
Have you noticed any binding? How’s the break and reset?
I’ve seen a few posts with HBI/CGW triggers with binding issues. In one video the guy claimed the HBI trigger bound up at some point the break and reset was totally off. Maybe it was installed incorrectly but I’ve seen enough that I have no interest in changing out my stock trigger for an HBI or CGW.
The foot on the striker that engages the sear (my analogy is what would be hammer hooks on a hammer gun) had an assload of gritty take up before breaking.
The “stagey” should have no affect/nothing to do with doubling- but it was not confidence inspiring.
I had and installed a Cajun Tool Steel striker and cleaned/lubed the gun thoroughly. Headed to range early to test fire.
Did you reach out to HBI and see what they say. I’m assuming there was no issue in the factory configuration. I call HBI once about striker springs and they were very helpful. David
I spoke at length with their tech guy, yes.
His take was the trigger couldn’t cause the pistol to double, which I agree with.
After a trip to the range this AM the gun still doubles when shooting at speed.
I tried that slide on another lower with no issues.
The lower is the issue.
Closer examination at home has me believing the problem is the disconnector sticking and failing to click back into place after firing.
I took the entire assembly apart, examined components, cleaned and reassembled.
It APPEARS to be functioning properly now.
I’ll make another trip to the range tomorrow to function test.
I have learned a lot more about the P10c than I wanted to frankly.
The break and reset were fine, my complaint was the thin, sheet metal, trigger safety wore a hole in my finger.
The HB trigger safety is nearly 1/8” thick, with nicely chamfered edges. It’s reset seems shorter as well.
The disconnector was sporadically hanging up inside the frame rail not (“popping out”) allowing the gun to double.
I completely disassembled the trigger bar/disconnect, cleaned, lubed and reassembled. Visually it appeared fine after this (perhaps a burr/debris preventing tiny disconnect coil spring from functioning).
Ran out to the range and dumped 4, 17 rd. mags- no further issue with doubling.
I realize CZ would’ve taken care of this, but figured it would be simpler/quicker to just sort it out myself.
