CZ-75

I don’t see a lot of postings about the CZ-75 platform. Most of the time it’s Glocks and 1911s that I see getting the attention. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the CZ-75 Single Action? I’ve never shot a CZ-75 but I’m mildly interested in getting one at some point. I would even be willing to give it a try for competition and if it did well there concealed carry.

a couple of my buddies have cz-75s, i think they are double action not single though. they both love them, both in 9mm, both 100%. i’ve shot them, grip feels good in the hand, nice pistol for the money.

CZ makes the 75 in double action as well as a single action variant. I mentioned it specifically since I’d be more interested in that version.

I have the CZ75 SP01 and it is slowly working its way up to being my favorite pistol. The grip is the most ergonomic and naturally pointing of any handgun I own.

It’s an undervalued weapon in my view. I have handled the SA, and like the ambi safety, but wonder if that straight trigger would be an irritant in a good pistol class.
Put a few rounds through the full sized DA/SA and the compact-love 'em.
The SA would be my choice though- would deal with the trigger.

I think they’re fantastic pieces, I’ve had a lot of CZ’s over the years, my first one was purchased in 1989 before the Wall fell, a GI brought it back from Germany.

If I got the SA only version, I’d replace the plastic trigger with a steel one that’s available, but they do shoot very well.

I love my CZ-85 Combat (just an ambi 75 w/two tone and adjustable sights & adjustable overstop on trigger).

I’ve always wanted a CZ75 since Cooper wrote about them but I couldn’t manipulate the thumb safety.

They do offer a version with a decocker if that would help you out.

They are a great bargain. While i have never owned one, i have handled a few and they have an excellent reputaion. The new CZ-75b(?) - the current production version of the old pistol really wowed me with its quality and ergonomics - a little long for me in the trigger reach dept, but C&L is also an option. I already had a Hi-Power, a Beretta and a Glock 17, so I passed on picking one up.

We had two captured ones, a standard milspec one and an engraved, nickel-plated pimp gun w/ gold controls and trigger.

I like mine, a little long in DA, so I use it cocked and locked.

I’d like to get some feedback on the .22 long rifle version of the CZ if anyone has any good or bad experience with that one in particular.

They’re great, and they run very well with high velocity ammo. Once broken in, a lot of guys can use standard velocity.

I’ve had a CZ75B SA (single action) in 9mm for several years. It is, without question, my favorite center fire pistol. It hardly moves in recoil and is very, very accurate. I like the plastic grips, but I swapped them out for Hogue fingergroove wraparounds and like it better that way.

I like the straight trigger just fine.

Just a great, great pistol.

I sold mine in 1991, so chances are you didn’t get mine. I kick myself daily for selling mine. Bought it for $200 and sold it for $300 and thought I was making out like a bandit.

Then, I discovered it was a terrific pistol and now miss it.

Might have to get another once I return back to a more firearm friendly place.

120mm, I wish I had that first one back!!! It was a pre-B model, no import stamps…beautiful piece and a great shooter.

I recently gave my 85B to an uncle. I’ll pick up another soon.

I’ve got a cz 75 SA. Love the pistol. Very easy to work on and the SA has a very nice trigger once some work has been done to it. I sold my glock to get the CZ, haven’t regretted it since.

Fwiw, several guys I shoot with have CZs and they all love them!

can’t go wrong with the CZ. Majority of the rest of the world uses CZ’s, either that or HP. I know for a fact that the Philippine police and secret service are issued CZ’s.

I have a CZ 75B,75BD and a 97B.For one thing they are a great buy and secondly are very functional and reliable.
Only complaint Ive had over the years is the recoil springs are weak units.Replacing them with Wolf springs ends that complaint though.
