Cutting from 14.5 to either 10.5 or 11.5?

I have a colt 6921 upper that I am thinking about cutting down to either 10.5 or 11.5. If I go the 11.5 route will the “m203” cut be in the way ie… will enough of the barrel be cut off for that not to matter?
