Custom Sound Suppressors Is it Possible?

A while back I had posted a thread about loss of hearing and one of the recurring suggestions was to use suppressors.

My favorite rifle is a DSA SA58 FAL with a G1 barrel. Some of you are probably familiar with the G1 setup but it’s a quick detach FH based on a single lug design.

My questions are threefold:

  1. Is it possible (who would do it legally?) to have a custom suppressor made to fit a G1 barrel lug.

  2. Would it be effective in terms of affect POI and sound suppression with only one lug?

  3. Am I just better off threading the barrel and using another FH altogether?

This route would be much cheaper than having custom work done.

I’m missing something though… why not just use hearing protection?

In addition to…maybe that sounds goofy, but my hearing really did suffer a lot.

They looked at my hearing tests and said “oh…you’re a shooter.”

Gee thanks Doc…

I sometimes find that my ears will sometimes push off my head at inconvenient times.

The reason I ask about custom is that I think the G1 FH/Barrel just looks cool.

cheaper yes,foam earplugs are 5 cents a pair,tacticool,no.

Being particularly fond of my ears for my living I wear both.
How it ‘looks’ isn’t a question.
