Will Springfield and/or Wilson accept non house guns (as in Springfield accepts non Springfield and Wilson accept non Wilson) guns for work like basic reliability and finishing type work?
Thanks,
Newt.

WC does, but I’m not sure about SA. You can always call them.
Springfield’s custom shop will accept all quality 1911’s to work on.
Thanks guys.

I heard they are alittle back logged right now and only working on their pistols. Call Springfield and see what their turn around time is. Colt is like 4+ months right now also.
Either will work on other manufacturers pistols. Turn around depends on work done. I recently got a 45 day quote from Wilson on checkering and beveling as well as fitting some parts for increased reliability. Time also depends on finishing, will they have to send it out or is it something simple that can stay in house. SA quoted me about 10 weeks for the same work, but they offer a few more options than Wilson for example Wilson will ONLY checker at 30lpi. You can download the custom work order forms from both company websites. I can vouch for SA’s custom shop. I’ve sent 2 pistols there before and I have a 3rd there now.
