custom made scope cat-tails

I found a guy on the Brian Enos forums who makes custom Cat-Tails. His name is Charles Drissel and he makes them for a few different brands of scopes including Leupold, Nightforce and S&B to name a few. They cost $70 ea, if he doesn’t offer one for your scope you can send him your scope and he’ll prototype it and make it for 1/2 price…$35.00 That was the deal with this one. This scope is a Leupold 1-4x 1" VX-II and it’s in a Bobro scope mount.

The whole process took about 3 weeks. He’s a good dude making a great product.

He did one for my wifes 3gun rifle. (aka my back up 3gun rifle :wink: )

Robb, have you seen the VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x? Do you know if it uses a standard adjustment ring that this guy might make cat tails to fit?

Yes I have seen and we do stock that scope. I haven’t tried a cat tail on one but appears to be about the same size as a Vari-X III.

Thanks for the bump. :eek: I’m in need of a cat-tail for my 2012 variable experiment… Is $70 about the going price for a quality cat-tail? If so I’ll just jump on one of these. Never priced or researched them before so not sure who’s are considered quality and what the cost should be.

In doing a search for a Nightforce 1-4 cat-tail all of the results point me back here or ARF but not to any manufactures of cat-tail…:mad:

FYI: Back tracked back through Robb’s link and it looks like these are now being sold through LaRue. Makes it easy.

I got in touch with Charlie through Enos’ forum and got it squared away. Should have one inbound.

Charlie is a great guy… I especially like the fact that he drops the Cat Tail in a padded mailing envelope and shipping is a few bucks.

Chris at 3gunstuff has a bunch of models? I just ordered a couple for my Premier scopes.
