Crazy question, TA11 MGO-249 on a 14.5” AR, good idea or not?

I have an opportunity to score a new TA11 MGO-249 for a steal, and I was wondering if anyone here has used one, either in the service or not. If you have, how did you like the green reticle, eye box/relief, etc…. I have a 14.5” M4 clone that needs an optic, and the built in killflash and flip caps have me intrigued. I plan to shoot mostly suppressed with surplus M855, M193, and 68 gr. Sierra Match Kings.

I called Trijicon customer service, and spoke to one of their technical reps on the phone. He said that the TA11H-G should work just fine with a 14.5 inch barreled carbine. In regards to the MGO version, he said that the notes did have some thing about M4 carbine’s in it, and that the BDC marks should work out to 400 or 500 meters.

Late to the game, but not surprised. An ACOG is an ACOG. They aren’t ultra precision optics. Enjoy!!

If you find it interesting and it’s a good deal go ahead and buy it. If you try it and don’t like it you can always get your money back.

Don’t get to hung up on the bdc. Different ammo shoots differently so you will need to try it out to see how it lines up with any barrel length.
