CR123 Battery Source?

Anybody know of a good cheap source for these?

It’s pretty hard to beat Surefire prices on batteries.

Same here. I’ve always used the surefire batteries and had great luck. Usually just pick them up at the local gun store.

I get my Surefires @ REI.

IIRC Panasonic actually makes the batteries for SF (I am not an authority and do not take this as gospel, just saying this is what I believe I read before)
get SF from SF for about $1.75 a piece (72 count)
get Panasonic for $1.35 (50 or more)

Well you can find the made in China one that will blow up in your device as low as $0.89.

Local to me at gun shows I’ve been picking up the SF 12pack for $20.

I use an offbrand (Titanium) CR123 and I use it hard for my job and I’ve not had any issues with them so far.

I have also read that the SF brand are just Panasonic batteries. I usually am a proponent of buy once cry once, but these items being so frequently used, I have to save a little bit somewhere and no longer buy SF batteries.

Batteryjunction.com is a great website for batteries of all types, no matter how obscure or for what usage.

Batteries are like tires and hand tools, only two or three companies make everything here in the US for all the other different brands. At local stores the Duracells, Enegizers, CR123s are always more that what I can get the SF’s for.

Back in the 90’s I took a SF battery pack(3 123’s srink wraped) apart and they were duracell’s, don’t know if that has changed now. I use sportsmans warehouse batteries and they work fine for the price.

I bought a bunch of panasonics for $.60 each on eBay a few months ago.

Shoot them both

Anybody up for a group buy? Only have to buy 9600 to get them for $1.20 a piece.

Lighthound offers a good deal on streamlight & energizer CR123 lithium batteries (I believe the streamlight batts are made by Panasonic) - list is $1.50 ea, but you don’t have to buy many to get a discount.

Wow, I didn’t realize you could get them this cheap. And I though a 12 pack at Lowes for $25 was a good deal.

I also use the offbrand (Titanium) CR123 and buy them from BatteryJunction.com in the 50 packs.

They run at 1400mAh , which is higher than most others out there. I also use them quite hard at work and haven’t had any issues in over a year.

The only down side to them is when they start getting low on charge, they go quicker than other brands. Still the 1400mAh does make a difference if you’re using a high lumen light.

I have had good luck with Brightflashlights.com

Always got my CR123 from here… good company, fast shipping.

Heck, Surefire sells them for $21/dz.

SureFire Batteries.

.

I have been running the “Titanium” brand CR123’s for years in all of my duty & weapon mounted lights. In my experience they are consistent with all of the other make cells I have tried. At $1.00 each they are a fantastic buy. BatteryJunction.com also offers some great deals on other brand 123’s as well.
