Does anyone know what ever happen to the CDQ (Close Quarters Defense) training program created by Duane Dieter? Blackwater offered it at one time, but it seemed to disappear from their training calendar around 2008. Dieter has his own website, however, “training” link doesn’t work (and has never worked to my knowledge). Is anyone still teaching this stuff?

Dieter had/has the big SEAL CQB contract so I don’t think he needs to be associated with BH anymore. I think the Navy even built them a big facility on the West Coast.
There is a very good former SEAL friend of mine who works in the security industry who is also a life long martial artist. He did not have much good to say about Dieter’s system. He even challenged the instructors to prove certain techniques that he thought were BS. He won and got kicked out of the course… twice.
I think there are much better options out their for civies. For one thing, find a good MMA school close by where you can train often. Going to a 2 week course won’t do you much good. Martial arts takes years to learn.

Not sure how far you’re willing to drive for good MMA training… Around that area you should take a look at Global, LINXX, or Gustavo Machado’s in VA Beach. You should also check out Odyssey in King William. Global would be my first choice for MMA training out in your area, but any I mentioned above would be a great place to start for realistic H2H training.
Thanks for the info Iraq Ninja. I was actually interested in Dieter’s system from a LEO perspective. More specifically, having to go hands on with a suspect while having my carbine in my hand (or slung) along with duty gear, kit, armor, etc. I was under the impression that his system offered H2H that would be suitable for that environment, whereas MMA may fall short once you introduce weapons, and all of the kit that a LEO will have on his person.
But I appreciate your feedback and will consider what your SEAL friend had to say.

I think he was on 3 most of his career until he was injured in a jump.
He just opened a martial art school in Penn. One of the best martial artists I have had the pleasure to train with.
I too am curious about a good way of dealing hands on with someone when in kit, with or without a rifle.
I did a lot of MA in the past (generic Karate, Kenpo, and JKD/FMA). The focus on training and technique was always focused on fighting and countering someone using the same skillset and technique.
What works for fighting a dude on the street, in a belt kit and armor?
In reply to the OP, I just discussed Dieter with a few coworkers who’d been through his course last night. Their pros for his course were the prisoner handling and weapon striking, as well as the simulations. The cons were pretty much everything else. I think it’s noteworthy that the context of the stuff we were discussing was military related. I don’t know the material well enough to say about applicability to LE. Flying chokes and muzzle thumps to the face may not be well received in a US court. 
Ok, so it sounds like Dieter (CQD) may not be the best choice…however… what are the other choices? Is there anyone else out there teaching a H2H system for LEO and military (who will be in full kit and who do not want to go to the ground)?
Along those lines, does anyone have any experience with Kapap? http://www.kapapacademy.com/ Seems as if they are gearing their techniques towards LEO and Mil, although they do teach some grappling.
If the kapap school is close by, it may be a good start.
You need to get some ground work. Don’t assume you will never go to the ground. Someone who has a basic understanding of groundwork can quickly take out someone who is a good stand up fighter with no ground skills.

I’ve had SouthNarc/Shivworks highly recommended to me by several friends who’ve trained with him. He’s on my short list of guys to train with, based on their recommendation and reading some of his writing.
