At 2209hrs last night, SgtRock and I entered into a binding agreement for him to sell a Magpul STR FDE Mil-Spc stock in this thread. https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?156275-MAGPUL-FDE-STR-Stock-MOE-Plus-grip-MBUS-front-rear-sights-all-new-with-packaging

He sent sent me payment information last night and agreed to sell me a Magpul STR FDE Mil-Spec stock, I paid immediately @ 2209 hrs and covered Paypal fee’s for a total of $71.00 for a $68.00 item.

This morning @ 0736 hrs he declares he made a mistake, and that someone else responded before me. He refunded my money this morning at 0738 hrs. He had to have known he sold me the stock on the previous night. I also responded saying I’ll take it via email at the same time, but did not get a response from him, so I took it to IM.

I believe he found a buyer after I paid for the item, someone that purchased both the MOE+ grip with the STR, and screwed me out of our initial deal. Had he made a caveat last night I would have bought the MOE+ grip as well, but he marked the STR SOLD immediately after I paid last night. The seller welched from our initial deal in order to make more money, and that is not agreeing to a deal in good faith

The seller modified his ad this morning to include: All SOLD SW Shooter… I do apologize… . Had he not done that everyone could see that he marked the STR sold last night after I paid via Paypal.

I should have stated in my listing that I cross-threaded in other forums…
Therefore that is my mistake, I own that.
I made a mistake by not checking the other forum which I had it listed and realizing that interest/payment had been sent prior to TxShooter.

I do feel bad… I don’t know what else to do… this has not happened to me until now.
I refunded the money to TxShooter and honored the first initial person that stated they wanted it and they paid for it.
Initial response was on 8/4 at 7:27pm…
So… hope that we can move on from this, I made a mistake by cross-threading… which I won’t do in the future, LESSON LEARNED.

If you feel I need to be banned from this site… then so be it… my first mistake in several years of selling items… on several sites…
Guess we all make mistakes sooner or later.

I would offer that this thread will serve as adequate notice on how to proceed in the future. I do not believe any further actions need to be taken. However, if I notice a pattern, I can adjust my response.

This man has no honor, this is his response via email:

It’s so blatantly obvious what was done. If this is how the EE is run here, there is a need for reform. I’m ashamed that this kind of activity isn’t reigned in.

I’d like to see other Administrator’s response on this matter.

Lies. You have no honor, and you claim to be an NCO. You were obligated to me once you took my money, it’s a binding contract. Any other website would have you banned for such activity, don’t believe me, go look at the list of banned members on TOS. It’s a shame that people like you are allowed to do business here. Timestamps don’t mean squat once you took my money!

I do apologize, it is early, I’ve been up since 0400, so I’ve had my morning of piss and vinegar.

I found no other similar listing on any of the gun forums. The fact that he sold it after he agreed to receive my funds, and that my funds were received by him, should be enough to warrant a ban. His word is worth zero. I’m am this angry because these new guys come in and play by their own rules, most of the time with an “awe shucks” apology, and no consequences.

I have the right user name that shows the STR stock, and EE ad items on his photobucket account listed as ctr1970
Google search brings up zero ads resembling the listed items under the two user names ctr1970, and SgtRock, or the gmail email address.

An ad was listed for Magpul FDE BUIS on FloridaGunTrader under user ctcs, on 8-5-14. His FGT user rating is 2 out of 5 stars. That shows what kind of person we have here!

That makes it even worse. He agreed to sell to me, and took my money after he had made a deal with someone else on another forum.

I don’t know if he’s a liar or a crook, or both; and he edited his ARFCOM ad after he notified me this morning. Timestamps tell the whole story.

EE’s (on any forum) are tricky business sometimes. The mods and staff that run a forum cannot:

  1. Get your money back from a thief.
  2. Make someone sell something to you.
  3. Not back out of a deal that they agreed to.

Buyer beware on all things related to an EE is kind of a given I think. One last thought, sometimes it pays to buy items from a KNOWN dealer of said product (VS always trying to save a buck). Just my .02…

Our EE Rules do not have a welching clause.

It’s pretty muddy to try to figure out everything that went on between ar15.com and here.

I will say that since no one is out any money there is not enough reason for disciplinary action against anyone.

I spent more than enough time on this to feel confident in the final decision.

Always use caution in utilizing the EE in any forum.
