Went coyote hunting last night in single digit temps. As soon as I got into the garage, you could see the frost building up on the receivers. Pretty neat picture and I thought I’d share.

Are we to assume the coyotes lived another night?
Yes. We were using a call, but they must have been snacking on something more delicious than a wounded rabbit. We didn’t see a single one. As it started to get dark, it also started snowing pretty heavily. My drive home included stopping on the road due to white-out conditions.
I’ve never had much luck in those conditions either. Around here, turkey calls early in the morning tend to bring in coyotes well.
That is really cool indeed. How did the optic fare?
It’s an Aimpoint M3 and did just fine. I have the lens caps on it that are transparent and they stayed clear the whole time.
Does it get cold like that often where you live?
