Guys I know this is posted some where but I can’t for the life of me find where…from some one that’s done it or some one who actually KNOWS what parts are need to do the conversion? I have a 17 and thinking about having the parts for the 16 SBR. A list with prices and locations to purchase, if available, would be awesome too or the link to the page since my last few days of searching have been to no avail. Thanks for your time.

Also a barrel. The parts are not available to do the conversion.
So they literally have conversion specific parts, is that what I’m reading? You can’t just grab the spare parts from a 16 you literally need the conversion components??? What kind of sh!t is that?
Yes, they are specific parts. The MK17 receiver is longer than the MK16. Hence the modified carrier, which is 7.62 length with a bunch of lightening cuts, longer 5.56 firing pin and the lower that is MK17 length but with a 5.56 mag well.
Damn you physics! I guess when I briefly read about it originally I thought that the caliber conversion would consist of bolt, firing pin, barrel and lower…didn’t realize that you needed those parts specifically designed for that function. Thanks again.
Handl Defense has a 556/300 blk kit. It is part of their mk.17 / mk. 20 improvement program. The main effort was the 7.62x39 kit as it has applications for UW operations in denied areas. I do not know what it would cost for the 556 kit to hit the market but I would assume it would be pretty close to the cost of the AK kit. Damn close to $1500 at current scale.
Price those parts the Boone listed for your own 17S, thats pretty much the number because of the premium FN puts on its guns and parts
