I have a 16" postban A1 Bushy that I want to convert to more appropriate CQB tool.
I’ve sent the upper off to ADCO to get the bbl threaded and replace the A1 with A3 receiver to which I’ll mount an Aimpoint ML3 in a Larue L-150. I also bought a Magpul CTR stock, but didn’t realize I needed a carbine buffer tube (actually the tech at brownells told me I didn’t need a new tube)
-What’s kind of buffer tube (carbine receiver extension) do I need?
Where do I get it? (I understand the diameters are diff. 'tween milspec and commercial, but does that mean the receiver threads are diff also?)
-One moe thing…Should I go with Carbine weight buffer and spring, or 9mm buffer?

I have several of the CTR stocks and they are great! I have both the commercial version and the mil spec version. You’ll have to find out which CTR you have to determine which buffer tube you need.
The threads are the same on the mil spec and commercial. The difference is in the outside diameter of the tube behind the threads. The mil spec is smaller diameter than the commercial.
Can’t tell you about the buffer. Why would you want to use the 9mm buffer and spring for a 223? In most of my AR carbines, btw, I have the Enidine hydraulic buffer.
The threads are the same only the outer domensions of the tube are different. Just buy a milspec lower receiver extension, an “H” buffer and carbine length spring.
