I wonder what the minimum “fragmentation” threshold is?
For some reason, I feel like this would not be as effective as an OTM/M193/M855 that did fragment. Just a gut feeling that a lot of the damage from violent fragmentation comes from ‘forced’ fragmentation upon the bullet. I honestly don’t know, though.
Either way, good find and very interesting. I’d like to hear an expert weigh in.
Lehigh Defense told me that their 300 Blackout fragmentation threshold is about 1750fps.
First of all, its a 45gr bullet. Bullets that light NEVER do well. Second, Mk318 does pretty much the same thing.
Mainly, I was considering their 110gr 300BLK ammunition.
Here’s my test of it…
Pretty impressive. Like a SOST for varmints.
Sounds expensive.
