Manchin says he’s working with NRA on universal background check bill

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Thursday that he was working on a bill with Senate colleagues and the National Rifle Association (NRA) that would implement universal background checks, a major component of President Obama’s proposed gun-control reforms.
Manchin, a member of the NRA, had not previously endorsed any specific measures to address gun violence.
he hasn’t endorsed anything? uh huh, sure… he’s hinted at magazine caps, no “assault weapons” etc. Screw him. He won’t be around next election, because West Virginians are PISSED, statewide, and there aren’t enough liberals here to bail him out. Look what WV did to Obama last time. Something similar is about to happen to Joe in a few years…
And in case you don’t know what WV did to Obama…In the Democratic primaries, 40% of the state voted for a convicted felon from TX instead of Barry. Then in the general election there was enough votes to call it for Romney within 10 minutes of poll closing (may have been 7, can’t remember exactly).
I think there was a thread with the guy who is president of the West Virginia state gun owners group who had a talk with this guy and said the senator was selling the state out.
Yup. Keith Morgan, head of the WVCDL (WV citizen defense league) sat down with him and was so pissed at the end of it, he couldn’t sit down to type everything out for 4 hours.
Many of the Dems are turning. What’s the NRA going to do to them now?
Mark Warner was A rated. He rolled over the day after the last shooting. I expect all Dems to do same. One every week or so. Then collectively they will pressure the hard core.
Dis-regard— read it wrong… but I still have concerns over the NRAs long term viability.
