Considering an AR-308 but need some advice.....

Hey all,

I’m considering putting together an AR .308 of some type (AR-10 or LR-308 or similar) but would like some feedback on a few questions to help clarify some things.

  1. Do both the Armalite and DPMS lowers take the same triggers? I’d be interested in adding a Geissele to either but am not sure if it will work in both.

  2. What is the benefit of the Armalite over the DPMS or vice-a-versa? Is this just a preference thing or are there some substantial differences?

  3. I keep reading complaints about the various magazines for these platforms. What is the real deal here? Are AR .308 magazines any good? Which are the better versions?

  4. Will both an Armalite and DPMS lower accept the same .308 buffer tubes or are they different with what they require between the two?
