If the Mil spec receiver extention is D1.148" and the Commercial is D1.168" are the thread dimentions different?

And if this is so, then can I put a Mil-Spec receiever extention onto my BM rifle which I am almost positive came with a commercial tube?
I would like to change stocks, but since my rifle is NJ legal, the stock is pinned to the tube which apears to be WAY to long which is why I am switching in the first place. The tube alone measures nearly 10.5" Not sure what the hell that is. But after watching the Magpul “Art Of The Tactical Carbine” DVD [which are freakin’ awesome BTW] I came to realise that with the “colapsable” stock I have being that long there is no way I can hold the rifle as they recomend.
Anyway. Back to the question. Are the threads different as they appear to be in the attached image? Or because the difference is only .015" it is not a something to worry about? I just dont want to buy everything only to realise that the tube does not screw in right.
