Just wondering how an M&P 9/40 carries compared to a Glock 19/23. Are they similar in carry? There only seems to be a slight size difference.
I like the M&P more but I can’t decide.
Any experience from carriers and owners of these weapons would be appreciated.

Size difference won’t matter much: are you planning on carrying IWB or OWB? Considering a light attached?
I switched from a 19 to the M&P 9, I don’t notice a difference.
I will be carrying IWB at about 3-5, so the grip will be flat across my side or back. Most likely a CTAC.
Does anyone have any really good comparison pics? Like both of them on side by side on their slides with grips in the air? Side by side for thickness?

Heck, I conceal a Beretta 92 at 3 O Clock in a CTAC Pro Undercover (which is now discontinued). That thing is huge - so you’ll be fine with the M&P.
For me it’s no problem to conceal a full size in a Comp-Tac Infidel.

I’ve never carried a 19, but if you can conceal the 19 you should have no problems concealing the M&P. I wear mine at 3 O’clock and can easily wear shorts and a t-shirt with it.
Thanks for that pic. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I though it was supposed to be a .5 inch difference, but that looks more like a 1/4 inch.

The grip length is the only difference you MIGHT notice.
I doubt you will have any issues concealing the M&P if you can already comfortably conceal a 19.

The G19 holster is the most comfortable holster I’ve owned ‘so far’ and it sits a little lower than a VMII that I had for a G19, hopefully the M&P holster works out as well 
You’ve already seen the comp photos, but I figured I’d just chime in and add one more to the list of people that carries a FS M&P. I do so at 3:00 in a Des Biens IWB#2 and I have no problems carrying with a t-shirt, as long as it has a bit of extra room on the sides.

The belt is critical and I roll with A&G Custom Leather.
I haven’t carried either of those. But I’m using a Comp Tac Paddle OWB for my HK45.
Unless you are huge that combo probably prints something fierce.
No I’m 5’8’’ 145. I wear a light leather vest over a tank top.

I guess I’m the oddball here, I have a M&P 40FS and a G19 and I definitely notice a difference in the grip when carrying. I know 1/2 inch doesn’t sound like much but to me is. I especially notice when driving (something I do quite a bit of) because my car seats provide lateral support.
As much as I like to shoot the M&P I’m seriously considering selling it and replacing it with another G19 or a Gen 4 G23 when they come out. I’ve decided that if I’m not comfortable carrying something I’m not going to own it, that’s why I’ve sold four handguns in the last six months. I can’t say I shoot one better than the other so in this case it comes down to comfort.
I suggest fondling them as much as possible before buying. That said, I may have 40FS for sale if your interested…

I believe it is 15% and there’s another model with in extra 5%, I’d call Tim to confirm
