Conceal Carry Belt w/ Slim Buckle?

Hey guys, I’m looking for a good gun belt that can be worn with khakis and a polo/button-down type shirt for work, but that has the slimmest buckle possible on it. The reason for this is that I carry AIWB, and with my current belts I use, the thick buckles stick way out with the gun tucked in near them. Any suggestions?

Typing in CCW dress belt into Google brings up tons of results. I used a MaxPedition Liger belt for a few months before just switching up to a Volund Atlas belt. The Volund works for everything from work pants (my primary everyday wear) to dress pants. The Volund is slow to put on and it might be an issue with AIWB carry due to it’s buckle system.

I AIWB carry primarily with my Volund Gear belt. No problems at all. And the buckle doesn’t protrud. Once you have it set up for your body it isn’t really that slow to put on. I wear mine pretty much everyday.

I use the Atlas belt as part of my EDC,AIWB, and I have zero issues.

The ares gear ranger belt is by far my favorite belt. I wear it every day to carry my heavy 1911 and spare mag. It also helps me as a Fedex courier carrying a heavy powerpad on my belt.

Unfortunately the buckle is bulky and also requires dissembly to loop it thru your belt loops.

I eventually took a dremmel to the buckle and use a g hook i picked up at milspec monkey for around a dollar.

Its stiff, sturdy, and infinitely adjustable.

I picked up the belt at larue tactical. Great company and lots of freebies with your purchase.

I have the Ares Gear Ranger Belt as well it works well for AIWB but if you want the slim design as stated in the title you’ll want to go with the Volund Gear Atlas belt instead. It is slimmer and faster to put on than the Ares Gear belt.

Tactical belts don’t seem appropriate for the attire you described. A good leather belt from The Beltman or AG Gunleather will fit your needs. I have had a Beltman belt for years, and just got my first AG Gunleather. The AG is awespome.

X3 on the Atlas. Slimmest I’ve seen

Yeah unfortunately the Atlas type belts won’t work for when I’m at the office (except on Fridays) but it looks like a fantastic option for when I’m not at work! I’ll check out the two links on the leather belt options for office carry. Thanks!

Have any of you ever used an “inner duty belt”, or a belt with no buckle worn under your clothing? I’m wondering if wearing one of those with a regular belt in my khakis/pants might be the best option here (whether it be an ‘inner duty belt’ as I said, or a tac belt with a low profile buckle).

I am assuming that putting the buckle elsewhere is out of the question? I wear my Wilderness belt asymmetrically for when I AIWB, but if it’s a tucked-in shirt kinda job, then clearly something like that would be totally out of place.

Yeah that wouldn’t work well for me at work with shirts tucked in. I went ahead and ordered the AG Leather belt in dark brown. Even if I have to carry in my briefcase during the day on those 4 days a week or less, I’ll need a good gun belt for all the time I spend outside the office. Then again, maybe it will be stiff enough to hide some of the issue I have.

I snapped a picture today to show just what that issue is (the most noticeable thing to me is the deformity of the belt) - this is with my CM9 in a Garrett Silent Thunder II:

Word. Very nice belt. Pretty much lives as my EDC.

so do you have a “tuckable” holster, or do you just go with your shirt out?

what little I have carried AIWB, a large buckle has helped to push the shirt out to aid concealment. I’m not arguing at all, just trying to understand…

I have a tuckable holster and have to tuck my shirt in when working Mon-Thurs (as in the picture above).

I tried like hell to convince you to try one and finally you do.

sorry, I didn’t see the pic before I posted. now I understand. good luck…

If you require a slim profile belt and haven’t talked to Matt @ Volund Gear Works, you’re one of two things 1. on drugs 2. stupid. Awesome belt and great guy.

I’ve been running a 1.5" coyote ghook for the last year and change. Absolutely rock solid.

I sent him an email last Thursday if he could do me a 1.75" black/black with cobra buckle, he told me he could get it out in 10 or so days. I received shipping notification last night. The guy is dedicated to his craft and his customers.

  1. Work in an office setting and can’t wear a tactical style belt to work

I do plan to get a belt like the Volund for when I don’t have to tuck my shirt in though.

yea I understand your req’s, but it was worth noting how awesome Matt @ Volund is.

I think a bigger belt buckle would actually help disrupt the belt bulge. my 2 cents though. I don’t carry on body often as I spend 80% of my time on a restrictive college campus.
