Compact Plate Carrier Question

Ok. I’ve been searching for a while now with no real luck, so I’ll ask here.

I’ve had for a while a Black Hawk (Yeah… I know) Compact Plate Carrier which I use with my AK when out romping in the desert with my buds. When I first purchased it I noticed there were 2 smaller male-end clips on the back part, but no corresponding female-ends on the front.

So my question is, what in the !@#$ are these tiny clips for? Is there an alternate front that I just haven’t been able to find that they go with? Or what?

Not familiar with the Blackhawk plate carriers, but is there possibly an optional cummerbund attachment? Some of the PC’s have optional cummerbunds
