Combat Pawn TV Show...WTF!

not going into the obvious if you have seen the show, but my reason for this post is something that they had on the show dealing with NFA.

on the latest episode that I just saw, a guy came in…IMO, LEO, but he came in and just “sold” a HK G36C to the shop for 5K…WTF?

Now I am sure that there were a lot of behind the scenes that you dont see, but that is some BS on how they can depict the sale of a MG…and they even mention that they could only be sold CIV to CIV if they were before a certain year, but WTF…IMO, it does not do the industry to show shit like that when what they did on TV “cannot” happen legally.

…and it was not a clone, i looked for the placement of the serial number plate…and even if it was, this was FA…

This is not just bad TV…its Completely Wrong!

Maybe I’m nitpicking, but I’m pretty sure the G36c doesn’t get classified as a machine gun. If, of course, that’s what you meant by “MG”.

I am talking about the HK G36c SBR/MG…not the Glock 36 (and they dont have a C Version)…just so we are clear…

The G36 series is absolutely has been and always will be a NON Transferable Class III Machine Gun…NOT available to the CIV market.

your not nitpicking, your just not correct.

You have a producer and an editor in control of show content neither of whom know NFA laws or squat about guns or for that matter even care. They only care about good TV and how to make it better TV and if the world talks about the show negatively or positively they still score. Gun shows are just a niche to exploit right now they have no agenda to help the gun owners.

I SOOO completely agree with you on that, but awareness needs to be made when we see things like this, because “a lot” of people do not know the difference and will think that how it is…“because everything on TV is true”!!!

…it’s even a show on “Tru TV”… LMFAO!!!

I saw a show recently where a guy brought in a G17 in a box because he couldn’t figure out how to reassemble it. It was clearly a time filler because they had to bring in their “expert” to do it. Terrible.

I was at lunch with some non-gun owning colleagues and one of them mentioned one of these stupid shows and another (happened to be a female) chimed in with an emotional comment about how people shouldn’t be allowed to have “those assault rifles - you know- those machine guns”. One of the guys looked at me, smiled, and asked “You wanna get into this?”. To which I responded “Only if you all want to hear the truth and lots of details about how you’ve been fed a bunch a BS over the years. And that’s why you’ve developed such emotional, non-objective opinions about guns”. They looked confused but all agreed. After hearing the truth about the NFA laws, etc. they were amazed at how much regulation there is and that all black rifles aren’t MGs. They also asked lots of questions, which I thought was great.

These shows are not in our best interest.

They depict gun people as inbred stupid trash.

They give the illusion that NFA firearms are purchased in over-the-counter transactions by anybody and that is not the attention we need.

Hopefully it was BS to make the show “cool”, I would think the local (nearest) ATF Office would send someone to visit them and see if they actually bought a weapon.

My non-legal mind is curious, is storing a NFA item for someone a crime? i.e. I deploy and give a weapon to my son to store for me? If that is legal, then could I claim that pawning was just another way to store?

I know the show indicated a sale (based on the OP), but am curious how they plan on getting out of a potential FFL Killer.

I have been to this store a few times, but that is just to see what they have in stock. I do not buy anything from them because they are extremly overpriced on most things. As well as, some of the employess only like to spread hearsay around when it comes to laws and regulation concerning anything. I would not be surprised of wrong information being spread over TV from these guys. I have not seen the TV show because I don’t have cable, but I think having been there in person is bad enough.

Aside from any editing errors and poor choices of content, the gun shop is the worst I have ever been in. The prices are above retail ($1800 6920s when they were sub $1k everywhere else) and $675 Glocks anyone? Didn’t think so. The employees are standard fare bubba gun “experts” you see at any gun show or Soldier of Fortune expo and the place basically exists to take advantage of soldiers.

They are the retail equivalent of Sons of Guns…

The intro to the show on TruTV says it all. This dealer is a world class clown. Get ready to laugh your ass off…

Combat Pawn

The guns these shows deal in are junk.

Tactical drills every time they open the store!?

For a second there I was hoping this was actually Combat Prawns, the television adaption of Neil Blomkamp’s hard hitting sci-fi film District 9.

Shame…

I saw that episode and was wondering the same thing… what a joke

Funny!

I wonder how pedestrians, drivers, and employees of other retail stores in the area feel about getting swept by a dozen wannabe SWAT commandos every time the store opens?

Point, set, match.

Yea that and the 1911. That was the cajun pawn show. I saw that.

Anyway I was flipping through the channels or something and saw the combat pawn show where they showed them securely opening the store as they “cleared” the parking lot. What a joke.
