Colt Wiley Clapp back from Alchemy Custom

Fedex just delivered my Colt Wiley Clapp from Alchemy, and I’m blown away at how nice it is! Rob did a fantastic job; I can’t say enough good things about him and his shop. Now, I just have to figure out which grips to run with!

Flush cut and chamfer slide stop pin and hole
Flush cut and crown barrel
New S&A grip safety and fitting w/hand cut 25lpi serrations
Hard chrome frame and lower parts

Beautiful pistol!

A long time ago, I had a Colt Combat Elite 1911. Your pistol reminds me a lot of that one.

What are your thoughts on the grips? With the older 70’s style look, you want to do natural wood of some sort? Or something synthetic like VCD grips?

Some nice Colt factory rosewood with the silver pony medallion would be “keeping in the spirit”.

LOL - this is why I just don’t buy 1911’s anymore. Paralysis by analysis. But those Colt XSE/rail guns keep calling my name.

Excellent, I just got my MC Operator back from Rob. His attention to detail, communication and professionalism are some of the best I’ve seen.

Rob is cranking of late, that’s or sure! Great looking pistol… Ron

That is a beautiful pistol! Congrats.

all very tastefully executed.
Congrats!

That is one fine looking gun. Nicely done. I have a Colt rail gun I may have tweaked one day.

Congrats on a beautiful pistol !

Rob did some work on a Baer PII in 9mm for me that got it up and running. His work is first class and his turnaround time superb.

Need more bux to send some more of my 1911’s to the guy to work his magic on !

I didn’t bother to look at my receipt until last night; I knew what I asked him to do. That’s when I discovered that he fitted a new bar stock plunger, at no charge! I don’t know why he felt the need, perhaps because of the chroming, but thanks again, Rob!

I’m debating sending them my MC Operator or sending it to Chris James at CPT. I love the two-tone finish on your Colt!

What is their lead time?

I don’t know Chris James or his work. I can only say that Alchemy Custom is a phenomenal shop and charge very low prices.

He’s done some work over on the louder than words forum that is very nice looking. There is also a post about a gun he built for a guy on the pistol-training forums. I think it is towards the end of the 2000 round challenge sticky or something. It ran like a raped ape.

eitherway, I really love what Alchemy did with your Colt. Beautiful.

The time for all of the work on my Colt was simply amazing; just under two months. And, most of that time was spent at the chromer. So, let’s see…

Excellent customer service…check
Unbelievable quality of workmanship…check
Light-speed turn around…check
Prices that can’t be beat…check

Seriously, folks. If you’re looking to have some work done, Rob and his team are incredible. I’ll be planning a full house custom build for my 45th birthday soon, and I’ll be having them do it for me.

That’s amazing turnaround time for quality work

Nice Colt, Rob is a pleasure to deal with. I’ve got a pistol with him now.

Nicely done!!! That’s a damn fine pistol.
