Please forgive my ignorance on this subject but I am only lately getting into ARs. I just received my 6920 today and though there is nothing wrong with it, I was wondering about Colt’s warranty. Given that to this date they still do not like civilians owning their rifles; what if I needed to send my 6920 for service. Would they give me a hard time about if since I am not an LEO? I don’t think they should but I just would like to know for sure.
really?
No man, you’ll be fine.
Colt is fine with you owning their rifles, the state of Conneticut, which has a substantial investment in Colt, does not.
No worries, relax.
I wasn’t sure because somewhere I heard that they were sending letters to their LE dealers telling them not to sell to civilians. Was this just an internet rumor? In any case their literature still says these rifles are not for civilians…blah…blah…blah…
If Colt didn’t want civilians to own their AR-15s, then they wouldn’t sell them
to civilians.
The issue of you being a civilian will never be brought up if you send your rifle
in for service.
Colt has outstanding customer service.
Also, there’s probably about a 90% chance that you’ll
never send your rifle back for service.
