Colt upper decisions...

I have a Colt 6920 and thinking about doing one of the following:

  1. Cutting down the stock barrel and P/A a Vortex to it…

  2. Buying a Brand New Colt 14.5 M4A3 Upper and P/A a Vortex to it…

  3. Or just leaving it be…

What do you guys think I should? Is there anyone better than ADCO for barrel work? It seems like they are the best from previous threads…

Have you checked out the Noveske 14.5" uppers that are in stock? For the money, you get a really nice setup that includes a cold hammer forged barrel (this is a better barrel than the Colt in terms of longevity).

I bet you could sell the Colt upper for a wash…

I do have a noveske lower that needs an upper…this might hold me over for the time being. I wonder how long the uppers on Noveske’s site will last?

I would leave it “as is.” I think every AR collection should have a bone-stock 6920.

Since you have a Noveske lower that is needing an upper I would just get another upper rather than go to cutting on a perfectly good barrel. A Noveske upper for your Noveske lower sounds like a real winner.

You can never have too many anyways!!

Just my .02

Thanks for the input, originally the noveske was a project build for my brother but he has no need for the rifle. So here it sits without an upper, I think I’ll just get an upper for it and sell it off. So I can use the money to benefit my Colt…

PM sent!
