Colt SP1 S/N 2601 with a Colt Scope built in the USA

My son found this SP1 for sale in another state and purchased it from the Gun Shop. It is a Colt SP1 S/N 2601 which makes it the 100th SP1 built in 1965.

It came with one Colt 20 round magazine.

Other then the handling marks on the outside everything else appears to be Mint to As New Condition. The bore looks AS New.

The scope is Colt and has cross hairs. It is built in the USA, not Japan.

Beautiful SP1. He was right in buying that. I hope it got it at a decent price. Early 1960s SP1s are at a premium if they are 100% original. That one looks to be in great shape. Someone took great care of it.

It is 100% original. He got it for a Very Very Decent price.

Why not just say what the price was? Or does it add to the mystery by keeping it secret?

Also qualifies as C&R! Very cool.

1965 with a chrome bolt and park’d BCG. I thought the chromed BCG lasted longer… and the chromed bolt wasn’t independent of the BCG.

Some info on early SP1 bolts

Beautiful rifle, gorgeous pics - but that dog is positively bad-ass!

Is the bolt marked with a “C”?

Cool as ****, What he paid is not only none of my business, I also don’t care. I bet I would have paid the same.

Some of us don’t like to say what we spent when we buy something expensive that is out of the norm.

This is my son’s SP1 and he asked me not to post the purchase price. I can tell you that he did get a Very Very Good Deal on this SP1 with the Colt Scope. He also has the Original Colt Manual.

Truth. I suppose you might be targeted by internet thieves stalking members on the internet.

Cool gun. Now go shoot the piss out of it

Very nice rifle md. I have minty 7xxx serial number SP1 and would love to have another early one like that to keep it company. Whatever your son paid is nobody’s business but his.

If we’re being honest here, it most likely comes down to the fact that although his son paid a very, very decent price, it is still way more than what his son told his wife he paid and she is the one watching.

Beautiful example of a bygone era, thanks for sharing. I bet he paid full 1965 MSRP or higher. LOL

It shouldn’t. Should have a faint “M” and “P”.

What color Krylon are you gonna spray it with?
