I’ve exhaustively read all the heated debates about the “list” and the quality and features of the major brands of ARs. Here’s my question;
Back when the AWB was in effect, I purchased a Colt MT6400C. (Fixed “tele stock”, ugly muzzle break etc.) When the ban expired, I got the barrel threaded and the proper FH installed and put a real tele stock on.
Is the MT 6400C the equal as far as “features/quality” of the “non-ban” 6920? Meaning does it have the same barrel, MPI bolt, properly staked gas key, M4 feed ramps etc, etc, etc? In other words, all the features of the 6920 that every Colt owner cites as to why to get a Colt?
Or do I need a real 6920 to get those quality features indicated on the “list”? Any responses are really appreciated.
I remember Ken Elmore telling me specifically that the C model came with a genuine M4 barrel. (cut to 16" of course)
And Colt’s not going to sub out some shit bolts and carriers. The one thing that Colt did do during that time was stick these crappy plastic buffers in the rifles. I don’t think they did this on carbeans, but I’m not sure.
Anyway… if you have the barrel threaded, you’re good.
It has an “F” marked fsb. Has “H” buffer. Has “C” marked carrier. Has “M4” stamped in from of upper @ gas tube. Barrel marked “C MP” 1/7 5.56 NATO. I THINK there’s M4 feed ramps, but I’m not sure.
