Apologies in advance if this has been asked or is a stupid question, I did search here and on the Internet in general and didn’t find a definitive answer.
I have a Colt Match Target Competition HBAR (MT6700). Although I bought it new in 2006, Colt says it is a 2000 manufacture.
Would the pivot pin in this likely be standard size or the “large pin”?
Is there anyway to tell for sure without disassembling it?
Thank you Andy, I did find that and based upon it thought it was likely that it is a small pin. (That was the only thing I really found though)
That site seems to have a lot of good information, but also seems like it has been quite a long time since it was updated. (1999/2000 on most pages) and one really never knows how accurate stuff found on the internet can be…
I guess I’ll build me an upper and see how it works out…
I used to own a MT6700 that was made on 2000 and the pin size was small but the FCG pin size was the large .170. Colt is has been using the mil-spec .154 FCG and M16 bolt carriers since early 2009.
Recently I bought a AR6450 that was made in 2/10 that has the .154FCG and a M16 hammer (complete with tail).
I would say before 2009 for I got a 6920 Nov of 2008 with the small pins and many before me have them as well. From what I know even summer of 2008 some got them.
