Planning to order one late this week. I was ready to go with the 6920 until the recent price increases and lack of availability. Wife told me to go ahead and order the 6920 but at $1500+ I have a little too much guilt to do it. I had been convinced to go with LMT at times in the past only to be convinced to go back to a 6920. I found a dealer who has complete LMT uppers and complete lowers in stock. I can get both for about $1000 (this is with Sopmod stock). I could put the $500+ toward many different needs (medical tests, ammo, scope, handgun, etc.)
I guess I’m asking for a comparison, in paticular, can anyone comment on any differences in reliability, durabilitiy etc.?
I think I would be more than happy with a LMT. I look forward to any comments. I would have done an extensive search but where I live I can only get dial up service. Thanks again.
I am a strong proponent of Colt, however if you need the 500 for medical bills BUY the LMT and move on and be happy. Look at USMC03’s posts he uses the crap out of LMT’s.
I tried to get them approved at work, but could not. That is the ONLY reason I do not have them.
Thanks for replying guys, I’ve been (slowly) searching past post’s on LMT’s. I had from time to time put the LMT as my first choice because there are a couple of points I like about it much better than the Colt. FCG pins for one but one of the biggest things I like about the LMT is the Sopmod stock. Your right, I think I will be very pleased with a LMT, my wife will inherit the Bushy M4. I look forward to a second M4 so we can be armed similarly.
Yes, the quote was for a complete upper ($600), and a complete lower with standard single stage trigger and Sopmod stock ($436). I talked with them sat., their sales mgr works mon-fri. I plan to talk to him tue or wed. and get the ball rolling.
